My Dearest Mummy,
Congratulations on your 75th birthday. May God continue to give you his grace and love and keep you healthy and happy, as always.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a wonderful Mummy to me for the past 46 years and for taking care of us all for the past 51 years. You have selflessly devoted yourself first as a loving wife, then as a mother to your 4 children and grandmother to your wonderful 6 grandchildren. Your contribution in bringing us all up has been tremendous and I do realize all the stress you went through – both emotionally and physically – giving tuitions after a hard day at school and then coming to cook and look after four of us and Daddy.
Especially the time when Daddy had a heart attack - that was really a very stressful period for you as we were all young and not able to understand what you were going through. Dearest Mummy, I also admire the way you took care of Daddy so lovingly and selflessly when he had Alzheimer’s in his later years and also when he was hospitalized in his last 6 months. You have been a wonderful example to all of us of your selfless love and devotion.
Your life has been one joys, accomplishments and struggles, and you have gone through it all with so much dignity and grace and without the outside world knowing how hard you have worked for our family – to bring us all up – though each of us had our own weaknesses. Thank you for being so selfless and devoted to us.
Thank you dearest Mummy for looking after me especially during all my sicknesses – right from the time I was small. With your constant love, support, care and guidance - of course Daddy also took good care of me.
Thank you dearest Mummy for helping me find a wonderful husband like John. Thank you for your wonderful support even after I got married for all the times you have cooked your special dishes and made us feel the warmth of home. John also thanks you for all your love and support through the past 18 years.
Thank you Mummy also for being there to listen to me and counsel me during my ups and downs, especially at my jobs - I realize how much you have been there for John and me in the past 18 years.
Thank you dearest Mummy for all your wonderful cooking all these years with so much love and care and for all your Christmas sweets and special Christmas dresses and for the other lovely clothes you bought for me and the love and warmth we all felt specially during Christmas time ( I will never forget these happy and wonderful memories of my childhood ).
Dearest Mummy I am sorry if at any time I have hurt you by my deeds and words and if I did it was never intentional on my part and maybe because you were close to me I took you granted sometimes.
It feels strange to write these things but I feel like expressing myself in writing and also I thank you for kind words and talking to you every night.
John and I thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for all your love, support, guidance, prayers, wonderful food and clothes, for educating me and making me stand on my own feet, all your constant support - all of this for the past 46 years.
With lots of Love and prayers for a continued happy and healthy life,
Lynnabelle
